Description
Few topics provoke more instant scrutiny and heated debate among young Christian adults today than the mention of “purity culture.” While the movement’s serious flaws—and its lasting harm on some who grew up in it—deserve critical examination, many now reject it entirely, along with everything it represented. Yet even as we critique purity culture, we must not disregard the Bible’s clear sexual ethics.
Pure explores the broader vision of God’s design for sexuality, reclaiming one of Scripture’s most unambiguous teachings: the call to sexual purity. Purity culture may have upheld truth in some ways, but its methods and gospel distortions often missed the mark. Rather than discarding the good with the bad, we should celebrate God’s beautiful design for marriage and the wise, loving boundaries He has given us—not to restrict us, but to bring joy, protection, and flourishing.
